I recently had the opportunity to represent my school and compete at the First Annual Codecember Computer Science Competition. I participated at the Launchpad Frisco Campus. The event was composed of, a coding contest and a networking period. The contest was a great way for me and my team too, put our skills to a test and also learn from other teams from around the area. It was an interesting format: each problem had a specific amount of points you would get depending on, the difficulty. I believe one of the interesting aspects of the competition was that during the competition the problems required students to work together wothout having myultiple copies of the problem set - which required us to quickly assess the difficulty of a problem and the solution required and have one person work on that while the other solved another. After the competition, we also got a chance to network with the other teams. It was a great experience to be able to talk to other teams learn more about their approach for certain problems, as well the different systems they were using. Overall the event was a great experience to get a chance to work as a team to work on out coding abilities and even, meet other people that share our passion for computer science.
