These past two weeks have been packed, I had my last research interview and asked someone to be my mentor. I had the pleasure of interviewing the Chief Technology Officer of Cinemark, Doug Fay, we discussed a lot of different things from how Cinemark keeps their data secure to the different types of cabling used throughout their facilities. Overall the interview gave me great insight on the corporate technology. A few weeks ago, I had an interview with the Founder and CEO of Aireal, Kevin J. Hart, where I learned about Aireal and their unique approach to Augmented Reality. Through that interview I could see Mr. Hart’s intense passion for technology and Augmented Reality and felt that I could truly learn a lot about not only technology but also about entrepreneurship. I talked to my Independent Study and Mentorship teacher, drafted an email, and stared at the screen for 5 min reading over and over making sure that my email didn’t have any typos and then … I hit send. 18 hours pass by and “ding” I receive an email “Subject: ‘Mentorship Request’ Message: ‘I am more than happy to be your mentor…’” I had officially found my mentor. I am extremely excited to have Mr. Hart as my mentor and to learn about technology, augmented reality, and entrepreneurship from him!
